The Sheldrick elephant orphanage is a center for the rehabilitation and rearing of orphaned baby elephants. Daphne Sheldrick found it in the year 1977 in honour of her husband, David L. W. Sheldrick, who was a famous naturalist. The center is open to visitors daily, and between 11 A.M and 12 P.M, which is the feeding time, visitors can get up close and personal with baby elephants when they are out feeding and taking their mud bath.
